Joe Solis is a versatile and passionate artist and designer who thrives on creating concepts and works inspired by themes of childhood, nostalgia, dichotomy, and dreamlike elements. His creations are designed to evoke a sense of reminiscence, comfort, and magic, all wrapped in a surreal atmosphere. Rather than solely focusing on the final outcome, Joe feels a deep sense of pride in the creative process and the fabrication behind ideas. He is deeply committed to exploring how viewers interact with products and objects, thoughtfully incorporating these dynamics into his concepts and designs.
Since learning to sew at young age, Joe took it upon himself to start making his own toys, and fell in love with the creation process. Joe is passionate about plush toys, especially plush with armature and interactive parts or functionality, as well as vinyl figures, artist toys, and collectibles. Alongside toy making, he enjoys character designing, illustration, and sculpting. Joe has had the pleasure of showing his works in several galleries, including The Window on Melrose, as well as experience with working with clients on a freelance basis. Joe is currently a Junior in Toy Design and Minoring in Entrepreneurship at Otis College of Art & Design, and looks forward to where his artistic journey will take him next!
